Salary: £18,360.50 per annum (full time equivalent £36,721 per annum)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, part-time, 17.5 hours per week, hybrid (60 % office and 40% work from home available) Actual hours, days worked and office attendance schedule can be flexible and agreed between successful candidate and manager dependent on business needs.
Base: Gravesend, Kent

The role:
The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative, organisational and coordination support to the Hydrographer of the Port of London and the Hydrographic Services management team. The post-holder will ensure the smooth running of departmental processes, support project delivery, maintain accurate records and publications, and will often be the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Provide proactive administrative and coordination support to the Hydrographer and management team. Support the smooth running of the department through effective diary management, meeting coordination, document production and stakeholder liaison.
Act as a central coordination point for departmental activities, maintaining records, trackers, calendars and controlled documentation, while supporting the publication and distribution of hydrographic products and information. The role also provides finance and procurement support, including purchase orders, invoicing, cost tracking and revenue processes.
As a key point of contact for internal and external enquiries, you will contribute to effective customer service, communications and engagement, with both internal and external stakeholders. The post-holder will help ensure departmental activities are delivered accurately, on time, and in line with agreed procedures.
What we are looking for:
High level of written and spoken English.
Minimum of five GCSE-level qualifications (or equivalent) grade 5/C or above including English and Maths (essential) and a science (desirable).
Proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint, ideally supported by formal training (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Evidence of ongoing professional development in administration, digital tools, or office systems (desirable but not essential).
