The role:
The Port of London Authority is expanding its software development team to support the modernisation of critical systems that support the operations of the PLA and keep traffic moving on the River Thames.
We are looking for a talented graduate software developer to join the team and help us improve and adapt our internal systems, expanding functionality and ensuring their longevity.
You will be working in a small team with direct contact with stakeholders and users. You will have a desire to develop and deliver high quality enterprise business solutions using industry standard tools. You must be familiar with client/server and web technologies and be aware of the principals of database administration. You will have a keen eye for detail, an enquiring mind and good inter-personal skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Take business requirements from conception to implementation.
- Support development activities such as web and power platform solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers across the department.
- Analyse, define and document requirements to enable specifications to be produced in line with department project management guidance.
- Adhere to software development governance including the maintenance of version control and associated documentation.
- Undertake training and development.
- Work in accordance with agreed service levels, department processes, policies and procedures.
What we are looking for:
You will have:
A degree in an IT, computer science or software development related discipline.

- Knowledge of enterprise solutions.
- Knowledge of designing and optimising relational databases.
- Knowledge of web technologies.
- An understanding of server, networking, and cyber security infrastructure.
- A dynamic and self-motivated outlook.
